Superhumans are a subspecies of Humans, known for being able to manipulate their surroundings thanks to a third chain of DNA on their bodies cells (known as the triple-helix mutation.

Origins[]

It's believed that humans evolved to superhumans after being exposed to massive amounts of radiation, causing the triple-helix mutation on their DNA. James Wise (in collaboration with Owen Redford) stated in his research about superhumans: "The first Superhumans were probably located on Scandinavia and the Arabian Peninsula, due to the amount of radiation this zones have been exposed to throughout the centuries."

When Daniel Bauer continued James research, he discovered this zones (Scandinavia and the Arabian Peninsula) weren't the only places with that amount of radiation, but also Princeton, New Jersey, and Arkangelsk, in Russia.

The Defenders also discovered that those excessive amounts of radiation on several zones around the world were caused by a strange event known The Convergence.

It was widely believed that someone could not become a superhuman during his lifetime: He had to be born as a superhuman, but Owen Redford proved this theory wrong when he created the Wyvern Drug, and by WiseTech with the Project Wyvern.

Types of Superhumans[]

Wise-Redford Classification[]

James Wise and Owen Redford classified superhumans into two groups

  • Superhumans: Superhumans that manifest superhuman abilities.
  • Passive Supehumans: Superhumans that do not manifest superhuman abilities, but present the triple-helix mutation on their DNA.

Bauer's Classification (Superhuman Index)[]

When Daniel Bauer created the Superhuman Index he divided superhumans into five categories:

  • Omega Superhumans: Superhumans with abilities that could probably destroy our world.
  • Delta Superhumans: Superhumans with abilities that could cause massive destruction on a certain zone.
  • Beta Superhumans: Superhumans with abilities that are improbable to cause massive destruction, but are still dangerous.
  • Alpha Superhumans: Superhumans without mass-destruction abilities.
  • Passive Supehumans: (Taken from the Wise-Redford Classification) Superhumans that do not manifest superhuman abilities, but present the triple-helix mutation on their DNA.
